Hall Calendar

Here is a copy of the April Hall Calendar.  I am especially excited about 3rd Bryan Spirit Week this month!  It should provide plenty of entertainment for everyone.

Prom!

The big news for March is that prom was a big success.  All the girls looked beautiful and everyone seemed to have a great time.  And most important for me, everyone stayed safe and out of trouble.  Below are some pictures the girls were gracious enough to share with me to post here.

February Birthday Break

Here are some pictures of the fabulous birthday break we had in February.  If that dessert table doesn't make you crave sweets, you aren't human.  I only wish we had gotten a picture of the food from Maggiano's before we ate it all.  It was delicious!  Thanks to Taylor's family for sponsoring this event!

March Calendar

Food Drive Reminder

All,
This is a reminder that the 3rd annual NCSSM food drive is coming up this weekend (March 3rd).  This year, we are trying to reach a three year total of 1 million pounds of food.  Please consider donating either in person on campus on the 3rd (it will be a fun day and we will have food trucks on campus as well) or donating online through the 3rd Bryan page at http://bit.ly/NCSSMFD3BR.  Donating through this page will help us with the hall competition as well as helping those in need through the food bank.

Alumni Scholarship

Seniors and Senior Parents,
Please see the below information about the return of the alumni scholarship this year.  If you are still looking for a little extra money for college, please consider applying.

The NCSSM Alumni Association invites members of the Class of 2012 to apply for the 1st Annual Alumni Scholarship Award (ASA). This year the Alumni Association will award two $500 scholarships to graduating seniors.

ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP
As part of its service to the school, each year the Alumni Association awards one (or more) scholarships to a graduating senior (or seniors) who best exemplifies the spirit upon which the school was founded. The award(s) will go to the student(s), who in the opinion of the alumni scholarship selection committee best:

•  Serves the NCSSM and/or greater North Carolina community
•  Takes advantage of the unique opportunities available at NCSSM
•  Demonstrates leadership
•  Works hard to accomplish goals
An award winner is someone who has shown a high level of academic performance while making the school a better place – someone whose involvement has benefited both themselves and the students and faculty around them. This is the student for which the school was created, and the alumni wish to recognize the student’s contributions and achievements.

The Alumni Scholarship award is intended to help offset the costs of the continuing higher education of the winners. The amount will be sent directly to the institution the recipients are attending in the Fall, to be applied towards tuition and fees for their freshman year.

HOW TO APPLY
Complete and save the attached PDF application form. Rename your saved PDF application file to follow the format of ASA_LastName_FirstName.pdf.  Applications should be submitted electronically to alumni_scholarship@ncssm.edu by the scholarship deadline.  Please include as the Subject line your FULL NAME and attach your application PDF to the email.

DEADLINE
Applications should be submitted by March 12, 2012. Scholarship award winners will be announced several weeks later at the Alumni Forum.
