We want to say a big thank you to Mr. Rash for coming to hall tonight to tell us a bedtime story. He told us the story of the Three Pittle Ligs, which goes much like the story of the Three Little Pigs, only not quite the same. All the girls got a much needed laugh to help them relax and de-stress the night before break. Thanks again or coming, Mr. Rash! I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving break!

Smores
Last week, we had smores with 4th Bryan. We just happened to have planned smores for what turned out to be one of the coldest nights so far this fall. It was under 30 degrees outside when we went out for smores. However, we still had a lot of fun and a ton of girls turned out (some of them for the first smore EVER!). Thanks to 4th Bryan for coming to hang out with us and to Su for providing me the pictures.
I swear there are grills in those clumps of girls... |
It was cold, but the smores were worth it. |
Ice Skating
On Saturday, we took an ice skating trip to Triangle Sportsplex in Hillsborough with 1st Beall. I think all the girls had a good time and we only sustained a couple bruises from minor falls, so overall, the trip seemed to be a success. Here are a few pictures courtesy of Megan Lamb.
3B Profiles-Su
Hi! My name is Su, and I am one of the RLAs on Third Bryan.
I am from Fayetteville, NC. I have two younger brothers named Leo (16) and
Andrew (6).
Here at NCSSM, I am a co-Editor-in-Chief of the Stentorian,
our school paper, and president of the Body Beautiful Club. Some of my hobbies
include singing, running, and writing. In my free time, I love hanging out with
my friends.
My favorite foods are sushi (I AM SERIOUSLY OBSESSED), Pad
Thai, and Korean food. My favorite TV shows include Modern Family, Elementary,
and New Girl.
I am really passionate about topics dealing with body image.
I find it extremely important for everyone to be able to love their bodies and
themselves. I also am passionate towards causes like fighting hunger and
poverty.

3B Profiles-Simone
Hello! My name is Simone and I’m a junior on hall this year. I’m 16 and from
Matthews, North Carolina, right outside of Charlotte. A whole Trimester has
passed and I’m only loving school more and more. I’ve made so many new friends
and I’ve learned so many great things. Here are ten interesting things about
myself:
- My favorite food is a potato. Any type of potato is good. Mashed, Sweet, Baked, Twice Baked, Wedges and more – it all sounds good to me. Yum!
- I play the flute in Wind Ensemble. I’ve been playing the flute for 6 years and I love it. I hope to continue playing the flute through college.
- My favorite subject is Chemistry. This year I am taking AP Chemistry and I was accepted into the Research in Chemistry Class. In this class, I’ll be conducting my own independent research on a topic in Chemistry. I haven’t decided what I’ll be researching yet, but I’m hoping to think of something soon.
- I love movies. I love movies with a passion and going to see a new movie is a favorite pastime of mine. I especially love movies that get you thinking. My least favorite type of movie is horror. EEK!
- I am a fangirl. I love geeky TV shows, like Doctor Who, Merlin, Sherlock, and Supernatural and before I came to SMath (back when I had time!) I would spend hours watching them.
- I have two dogs. They are both Bishon Frise’s. One is a rescue and her name is Rosie. The other is a purebred and her name is Rockette.
- I hate slugs. I can see any other type of bug without freaking out. But I don’t like slugs. They’re just so scary.
- I play soccer. I’ve been playing soccer for most of my life. I hope to make the varsity team in the spring and continue to play representing NCSSM. Go Unis!
- I was lucky enough to be accepted here with my best friend, Nicole, who lives on 1st Beall. Having a friend I already knew helped make the transition to NCSSM easier and it’s nice to reminisce about home with her.
- I love Third Bryan!! I am so happy to live on this hall. All the girls are fantastic and Linsey is great! I look forward to living here for the rest of my two years at SMath.

Halloween
Here are a few pictures of some of the 3rd Bryan ladies dressed up for Halloween! Even though we weren't here on Halloween night, the students still have plenty of opportunities to dress up and celebrate together.
